These images were not meant as a series. They have been taken at different periods, not so much in view of some assignment or some project, as out of a moment's impulse. Only much later did I become aware that animals seem to play a special role in my dreams and in my unconscious, which made me decide to undertake a major essay about them (see: "Bestiarium, 1993-94").
